Before NEP 2020 for  B Tech, you need to have Physics, and Maths at 10+2 level. Therefore commerce stream students were not eligible to join B.Tech courses. With the implementation of the new education policy, this system is in process of being modified for the students with commerce stream. AICTE has given permission to the students to be admitted for B.Tech courses with any of the three subjects at +2 level out of Computer Science, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship, Physics, Chemistry, IT, Mathematics or Biology. It has made it mandatory for students who do not have Maths and Physics at XII std, to take various bridge courses in Maths and Physics by the engineering colleges that will strengthen the base of these subjects among students during the initial semesters.
